Q: What Internet backbones are used to serve my dedicated server traffic?
A:
We only use top brand tier 1 Internet backbones. Currently our data center has direct connection to ATT, Sprint, Level 3, Qwest, and Genuity Internet backbones. We utilize BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) routing that efficiently routes traffic by choosing the shortest path available to deliver your webpages to end users. What this means is data will be sent to the user, say on ATT network, through the ATT backbone, data will be sent to the user, say on Sprint network, through the Sprint backbone, and data will be sent to the user, say on Level 3 network, through the Level 3 backbone. If one or more backbones fail, BGP will automatically reroute your traffic to other working backbone connections. Here is a sample traceroute result from our data center to major Internet backbones.
